XLNT offers the ability to change the default editor from the MS-DOS Editor. What
better solution for a graphical text editor than nu/TPU. By combining XLNT and nu/TPU
on Windows NT systems users of OpenVMS can now increase their productivity through
the "comfortable" work environment created with their favorite editor integrated
with an advanced scripting language based on DCL.
The SET PREFERENCE command in XLNT is used to change the editor in XLNT to nu/TPU.
If nu/TPU v5.0 is located at C:\NU_TPU\intel_32\wtpu_v5.exe the XLNT command would
look like:
SET PREFERENCE/EDITOR="C:\NU_TPU\intel_32\wtpu_v5.exe"/SAVE
This would change the default editor used by XLNT from the MS-DOS Edit to nu/TPU
and save the changes so that the next time the user logs in they will still have
the editor changed to nu/TPU.
