Overview: What is DeviceShare Multi-Platform:
DeviceShare makes formerly complex remote operations quick and easy! DeviceShare
makes existing mass storage devices more, productive, accessible and available to
users on a network. By allowing one tape device to be shared by multiple CPU's,
DeviceShare provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for backing up data
on nodes that do not have appropriate tape drives. DeviceShare's flexibility allows
you to handle backup the way that works best for your business- centralized or decentralized.
The DeviceShare utility allows a node to share its local tape devices and/or disk
devices with other nodes using TCP/IP and/or DECnet. By providing such access, DeviceShare
expands the usefulness, connectivity and availability of all your backup devices.
